Care a putut fi problema cu tigrii? Lipsa de inspiratie si prea putina sudoare?

Clujul, cu o formula foarte apropiata de cea de anul trecut, a etalat un joc exact, cunostinte tactice precise si executie buna. Exact ceea ce echipa gazda nu a reusit sa faca.

Lucrurile au luat o intorsatura rapida dinspre suportabil catre rau, apoi mai rau, iar in final de necrezut. Primul sfert a fost interesant, ambele echipe dand maximul din ele. Scorul de 19-24 nu a fost chiar atat de rau dar baietii in alb nu au reusit sa aduca acelasi elan in sfertul doi. Peciukas a avut de timpuriu probleme cu greselile personale, astfel armele ofensive si-au pierdut repede din eficacitate si dupa doar 10 puncte in tot atatea minute scorul la pauza s-a oprit la 29-45.

Dupa pauza lucrurile au ramas la fel de intunecate. Sangerarea muresenilor nu a putut fi oprita nici de titulari nici de rezerve si prin urmare diferenta crestea. Clujul a castigat si sfertul trei (15-21). Zarurile erau practic aruncate.
Depasiti categoric la capitolul recuperari (10) tigrii au pierdut prea multe oportunitati iar vizitatorii au reusit sa traga folos din aceste greseli. Sa mai amintim si procentajul foarte prost de la trei puncte (15%) si extrem de multele mingi pierdute (21). Dar ceea ce este socant este (in)eficacitatea de la linia de libere: 10 transformate din 21, o adevarata tendinta cronica de sinucidere pentru BC Mures. Inainte de fluierul final multi spectatori au parasit sala iar vocile cele mai rasunatoare veneau din coltul micii galerii clujene. O infrangere extrem de dezamagitoare si viitorul nu pare sa sune bine.

Niciodata nu te poti astepta sa castigi un meci atunci cand reusesti o nonperformanta ca aceasta. Singurii jucatori mureseni cu cifre duble, Pociukonis (14 puncte), Reed (10p, 9 recuperari) si Tomic (13p), au jucat decent dar nu excelent, iar absenta lui Big Q pare sa se transforme intr-o problema serioasa sub panou.

Din partea "sepcilor rosii" Krstanovic a avut o seara absolut fantastica (28p, 11 rec), iar Lawrence care anii trecuti a jucat la Pitesti a zguduit panoul cu cateva executii spectaculoase.

What could have been the problem with the Tigers tonight? No inspiration, and not too much sweat either?

Cluj, with a team quite similar to last year's roster, played an exact game with precise tactical knowledge, and good execution. Quite the stuff that the home team couldn't bring to the floor.

From being bearable things turned bad, then worse, and finally unwatchable. The first quarter was exciting with both parties pushing their limits. A 19-24 scoreline wasn't all that bad, but the boys in white couldn't carry the momentum into the second quarter. Hampered by Peciukas being in a perennial foul trouble, the offensive weaponry quickly lost its power, and a mere 10 points in as many minutes stopped the halftime score at 29-45.

After the break things remained as bleak as previously. Neither the starting five, nor the bench was able to stop the bleeding, and the gap only grew as a result. Cluj won the third as well, 15-21, and the contest was all but over.
Totally outrebounded (by 10), the Tigers gave up too many second chance opportunities, and the visitors were just happy to take advantage. Add to the mix a horrible shooting night (15 % from beyond the arch), and a generous 21 turnovers as well. But the tragicomedy was well rounded up by the shocking 10 of 21 ratio from the line, a chronic suicidal tendency for BC Mures.
By the time the final horn sounded many had already left the building and the loudest chanting that could be heard was coming from the corner where the nice little group of Cluj fans were celebrating. A very disappointing 55-82 defeat, and the future is all but bright.

You can never expect to win a game when you put up a nonperformance like this. The only home players in double figures, Pociukonis (14 pts), Reed (10 pts, 9 reb) and Tomic (13 pts), had a decent night, but no double-doubles, and the injury of Big Q seems to become a serious leak for the front court.

For the "Red Caps" Krstanovic had an absolutely stellar game (28 pts, 11 reb) and Lawrence, who last year played for Pitesti, shook the backboard with a few spectacular dunks. That's about it.
